As you may or may not know, we are in the process of finalizing design plans for our new custom build. There’s a lot of hurry up and wait going on right now and it’s really not all that interesting. SO, I thought I’d start sharing mood boards for the rooms of our house as I get them done. I’ll share the vision for the rooms and products that we have chosen- just keep in mind that we haven’t even broken ground yet so some (likely many) things will change between now and when the house is done. These are just our preliminary ideas.
I’ll start with the Master Bath because it came together REALLY fast! Here’s the general idea:

Focal Point(s)
This room was designed around the idea of having a matte black freestanding tub with large modern black windows behind it as the focal point(s) of the room. (This tub is often out of stock so we have a backup option here.) Then came that capiz and brushed brass chandelier from CB2. Y’all, I mean goodness, what’s not to love about that light fixture?? It was one of the very first things we bought for the house. I didn’t want to take a chance on it selling out or no longer being available when it came closer to time. I checked to see if there were dupes anywhere but couldn’t find anything similar that I liked as well. So it’s sitting in our garage, patiently waiting.
The Tile
We decided on a large format marble or marble look tile for the floors and shower walls with marble hex for the shower floors. We wanted the tile choices to be “quiet” and classic so they would stand the test of time and so they wouldn’t steal the spotlight from that gorgeous tub, window and chandelier focal point.
Color Palette & Design Style
The color palette for this room (and, really, the whole house) will be SW Pure White, SW Tricorn Black, SW Touch of Grey, with touches of fawn and light caramel’y tones. We will have a mixture of black cabinetry and white oak throughout the house. The look for the house will be Modern French European. Is that a thing? It is now. Ha!
I cannot wait to actually SEE this room come together in real life! Until then, I’ll keep working on mood boards and share them as I get them ready.
Until next time…
